Deleting your data

Your records are yours. You can take a copy and delete the lot yourself, from inside homehogs, without asking anyone.

How to do it

1. Sign in at www.homehogs.com, or open the homehogs app.
2. Go to Your account.
3. Choose Delete my account and confirm.

It happens straight away. There is no waiting period and nothing to email us about.

Take a copy first

The deletion page offers you a records pack before you go: a printable PDF of everything you can see, with a folder of every document you have uploaded. It is worth taking. Once the deletion runs there is no undo and no grace period, and we cannot recover any of it for you.

What gets deleted

• Households only you use are deleted completely: every property, bill, job, appliance, photo and document in them.
• Households other people share with you carry on without you. Their records belong to them, so those stay, and you are removed from the household.
• Your account itself goes, along with every signed-in device and app session.

We keep nothing back except where the law requires it, which in practice means records we have to hold for accounting. The privacy notice sets out what those are and how long we keep them.

If you signed in with Google, Apple, Microsoft or Facebook

The steps are the same. If you never set a password, we email you a short code to confirm it is really you, rather than asking for one you do not have. Deleting your homehogs account does not touch your Google, Apple, Microsoft or Facebook account, and it does not delete anything held by them.

If you cannot sign in

Write to hello@homehogs.com from the email address on the account and we will do it for you. We will ask you to confirm the request before anything is deleted, because an emailed instruction is not on its own proof of who sent it.

Deleting one thing rather than everything

You do not have to close the account to remove a record. Every document, bill, job, appliance and property can be deleted on its own from inside homehogs, and a home you no longer own can be archived instead, which keeps its history without it cluttering up your list.
