Accessibility at homehogs

A home's story belongs to everyone who lives in it, so homehogs should work however you use a computer or a phone. This page says what we aim for, where we know we fall short and how to tell us when something gets in your way.

What we aim for

We work to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, on the website and inside the app. In practice that means:

• Everything works from a keyboard, with a visible focus so you can see where you are.
• Pages are built for screen readers: proper headings, labelled forms and buttons, and a description on every picture that carries meaning.
• Text scales. Zoom to 200 per cent and the page reflows rather than clipping.
• Colours come from one shared palette chosen for contrast, in light mode and in dark.
• Nothing depends on animation. If your device asks for reduced motion, the site keeps still.

Where we are

homehogs is in beta and some pages will fall short of that standard. We check what we build as we build it, but we are a small team and we have not had an outside audit yet. If a page does not work for you, that is a fault we want to know about, not one you should have to work around.
